Having recently moved house, award-winning homes and interiors blogger, Cassie Fairy wanted to completely transform the property’s tired bathroom. Using the beautiful Concept Azul and Concept Blanco wall and floor tiles from TileTrader.co.uk, Cassie has renovated the originally out-dated bathroom into a contemporary and stylish space, completing all the tiling and plumbing herself, without any help from a professional. Here, Cassie shares her experiences.
Tile style and inspiration:
“I really wanted a spa theme with dark colours and clean lines, and I loved the idea of a sweep of colour with a dark coloured tile running seamlessly across the bathroom floor and wall surfaces up to the ceiling.
“I chose the beautiful Concept Azul tiles from Tile Trader, which is a rich denim blue colour with a subtle fabric-like texture print on a glossy, smooth surface. I love how bold these look in the deep blue colour, and the Azul tiles are ideal as they’re suitable for both floors and shower walls – perfect for what I had in mind.
“I wanted the swathe of blue to take centre stage, so I was looking for white tiles for the other walls to compliment these and make the darker colour stand out and really ‘pop’. I decided on the Concept Blanco tile for the walls which have a very subtle stripe in off-white and dove-grey tones running along each tile and looks stunning.
“The Concept white tiles are 60cm x 20cm in shape, and I was initially intending to tile them in straight lines, but when I tried laying the tiles out in a brick-work pattern on the floor, I was sold.”
The finished bathroom look:
The dark blue Concept Azul tiles draw the eye and create depth in the room, while the white Concept Blanco tiles make the space feel wider by bouncing light around the walls. This adds to the feeling of spaciousness created by Cassie’s decision to move the sink and toilet to the opposite side of the room.
Cassie Fairy says:
“The effect of the blue and white tiles together is exactly what I was looking for; bold and colourful. The room has been transformed from a grotty bathroom into something really special with help from Tile Trader.”
